How Alt Development Labs, Inc. handles personal information in the Wirewise app.
Scope
This policy explains how Alt Development Labs, Inc. ("we", "us", "our") handles personal information in the Wirewise app. It covers the staff, contractors, and approved builder partners who use the app.
It also covers information you enter about other people — customers and site contacts. You are handling that information on the company's behalf, and the rules in this policy apply to it.
What we collect
Account information you provide: your name, email address, phone number, and optionally a profile photo. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive the basic profile details from that sign-in.
Account status set by administrators: whether your account is approved or suspended, your role, and any builder organization linked to your account.
Work records created as you use the app: jobs and requests, site addresses, scheduled and completion times, status changes, checklist progress, assignments, and which account performed an action.
Payment records connected to completed work: amounts earned or owed, rates, payout history, and any payment method, reference, or note entered by an administrator.
Comments and photos you add to a job, including when they were posted.
Customer and subdivision records entered by staff: business names, contact phone numbers, and addresses.
A push notification token for each device you sign in on, so the app can notify you about your work.
What we do not collect
The app contains no analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking software, and it does not build a profile of you for marketing.
It does not request or track your device location. Addresses in the app are job-site addresses that staff type in, not positions recorded from your phone.
The camera and photo library are used only when you choose to attach a photo to a job comment or set a profile picture. The app does not access them in the background.
How we use it
- To run the app: signing you in, showing your jobs, and recording the work you do.
- To assign and coordinate work, and to notify you about jobs and comments.
- To keep accurate business records of work performed for customers.
- To protect the app and its data — verifying who is signed in and enforcing approval and roles.
- To meet legal, tax, insurance, and regulatory obligations.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Service providers
The app runs on Google Firebase. Google provides sign-in, the database, file storage, server functions, and push-notification delivery, and processes this data on our behalf under its terms.
The app uses Resend to deliver one-time email sign-in codes. Resend processes the email address and message content needed to send that code on our behalf.
If you sign in with Apple or Google, that provider handles the sign-in itself. Apple also delivers push notifications to iPhones.
These providers may store and process data on servers outside Canada, including in the United States, where foreign courts and authorities may be able to compel access to it.
How long we keep it
Job records, comments, and photos are business records and are kept for as long as the business needs them, or longer where law, tax, insurance, or regulation requires.
Account information is kept while your account exists and afterwards where a record is required.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account from the profile screen. This cannot be undone. It removes:
- Your sign-in, so you can no longer access the app.
- Your profile record — name, email, phone number — and your saved notifications.
- Your profile photo.
- Your name from any job you were assigned to. Unfinished jobs left with nobody assigned return to the open pool so the work is not lost.
The work itself is kept. Jobs, and the comments and photos posted against them, are business records of work performed for a customer, and we retain them after an account is deleted. Once your profile is gone those comments no longer name you — they show only as posted by a former user.
Administrators can run the same deletion for you. If you have a question about what was removed, or you believe a specific comment or photo should also be removed, write to info@wirewise.ca.
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law you can ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, and ask questions about how it is handled. You can withdraw consent to optional handling, though doing so may mean you cannot use the app for work.
Make a request at info@wirewise.ca. We may need to verify who you are before we act on it.
You can turn off push notifications in your device settings at any time.
Security
Access requires a sign-in, and new accounts must be approved by an administrator before they can see any data. Server-side rules restrict what each account can read and write, and administrators can suspend an account immediately.
Data is encrypted in transit. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security — protect your device and your credentials, and report a suspected compromise promptly.
Not for children
The app is a work tool for authorized staff, contractors, and builder partners. It is not directed at children and must not be used by anyone under the legal working age in their jurisdiction.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date below shows the current version, and material changes will be communicated through the app or by your administrator.
Contact and concerns
Questions, requests, or complaints about privacy: info@wirewise.ca. We will respond within a reasonable time.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
